JVP Engineers, P.C. has served the DC Metro Region for more than 25 years. Located in Friendship Heights, Washington, DC, we have provided high quality, cost-effective, innovative MEP and Fire Protection engineering designs to federal and local governments, health facilities, education complexes, office buildings, and more. In order to maintain the highest standards for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering, our professionals hold themselves and each other accountable for each design from start to finish. We are determined to provide quality engineering services based on sound judgment and knowledge.

With a combined individual experience of more than 150 years, all of the technical staff members of JVP Engineers, P.C. have had hands-on experience in conducting surveys, energy analyses, field investigations, load calculations, construction supervision, preliminary cost estimates, life cycle cost analyses; and preparing construction documents, specifications, prospectus development studies, building evaluation reports and energy management studies. Many are bilingual and have experience working with both US and International Codes and Standards.

The beginningsCOMPANY HISTORY

1992

Humble beginnings

J. Vicente and Vincent J. Pedraza established JVP Engineers, PC in the basement of a small office business located at 4906 Wisconsin Avenue in upper NW Washington, DC.

JVP is awarded its first project, the renovation of the Quality Inn Hotel (currently known as the Washington Courtyard Marriott). The project was featured in a special issue of Building, Design & Construction magazine.

Simultaneous to the Quality Inn Hotel, Mr. Pedraza is asked to serve as the Lead Mechanical Engineer for the new Federal Triangle Building (currently known as the Ronald Reagan Building).

1994

First Prime Contract

JVP Engineers receives its first prime contract with the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Following the VA contract, the firm secured additional contracts with other agencies, such as the Department of State, National Park Service, General Service Administration, and others.

1995

Relocating

JVP Engineers moves its offices and 6 employees to 4435 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC.
1998

Bread-and-Butter

JVP Engineers is awarded its first of many multi-year IDIQ Contracts with the General Services Administration, National Capital Region.
2000

National Honor

JVP Engineers receives the prestigious GSA National Honor Award for the U.S. Geological Survey Headquarters Chiller Replacement Project in Reston, VA. The project was selected out of 145 projects nationwide.
2002

On the Road Again

JVP Engineers moves its headquarters to 4200 Wisconsin Avenue NW in Washington, DC.

Our Annual Crab Feast tradition begins with friends, families, and clients that still continues to this day.

2005

Play Ball!

JVP Engineers is selected as a prime MEP team member for the design of the new Washington Nationals Baseball Stadium.
2007

Award of Merit

JVP Engineers received the American Institute of Architects Award of Merit in Historic Resources for the rehabilitation of the Bowieville Mansion in Upper Marlboro, MD.
2008

Travels and Features

Key staff members travel to Baghdad, Iraq to support the U.S. Department of State in its evaluation of the U.S. Embassy during the War in Iraq.

JVP Engineers receives a Plaque of Honor for its design support of The Anderson Company Headquarters. The project was recognized as one of the top projects on the Eastern Seaboard by Real Estate & Construction Review.

2011

Moving on Up

JVP Engineers relocates to our current headquarters at 5101 Wisconsin Avenue NW.
2014

J. Vicente Pedraza

President & Founder

Mr. Pedraza has more than 53 years experience in Mechanical Engineering design for projects for both the Federal Government and the private industry.

Vincent J. Pedraza

Executive Vice President & Founder

With project management experience totaling over 25 years, Mr. Pedraza has been involved in manpower planning, budgetary cost control, scheduling, coordination of various disciplines, quality control review and overall administration and oversight for various contracts.

Michael P. Boerger

Mr. Boerger has 32 years of design experience in the design of mechanical engineering. He specializes in the design of HVAC systems.

Adrian R. Bostic

Mr. Adrian Bostic has served as the Office Manager of JVP Engineers for 14 years.

Anibal Losada

Mr. Losada has more than 36 years of experience in electrical design for schools, detention facilities, housing, health care facilities, and government facilities.

David A. Kincaid

Mr. Kincaid is an accomplished mechanical engineer with extensive design and project management experience for HVAC and Plumbing projects of various types, for buildings, medical facilities and campus facilities.
