DC Consolidated Laboratory

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

As sub-consultants, JVP Engineers, P.C. provided the plumbing and fire protection design for the new 300,000 square foot, District of Columbia Consolidated Lab, which will house the following agencies: the Metropolitan Police Department, the Office of Chief Medical Examiner and the Department of Health.

The new facility will include a Bio-Safety Level Three (BSL-3) lab and a Forensic Biology (DNA Analysis) lab, and has been designed to attain a LEED Silver Certification.

The commissioning of the building will consist of systematically documenting that specified components and systems are installed and started up properly and then functionally tested to verify and document proper operation through all modes and conditions.
