Ryan & Freedom Hall (formerly named Mulledy Hall) are home to the Spirit of Georgetown Residential Academy. Built at the turn of the 19th century, nestled within the historic quad of campus and overlooking the Potomac River, the Former Jesuit Residence has a lasting significance on Georgetown’s campus.
The project consisted of renovating approximately 48,000 sf of the vacant space in the two buildings, Ryan and Freedom Hall (Named Mulledy Hall at the time of contract). The student residential spaces are comprised of residence rooms, classrooms, lounges, convening areas as well as restrooms, toilet and shower rooms.
JVP Engineers, P.C. provided traditional HVAC, plumbing, and electrical engineering design services, including the design associated with the automatic temperature controls to monitor and control the HVAC equipment, controls to connect to existing GU campus system, plumbing design (sanitary, water and vents) for all the public toilets, toilet/shower room and all of the miscellaneous utility rooms, and coordinate with a fire alarm and fire protection consultant and a communication technologies consultant as it relates to coordinating our systems with their cabling, telephone, data, audio-visual and security systems.
This project achieved LEED Gold certification.
